Systems Engineer

At NewsBank, our mid-size organization has big-time tech, big-data, and a big opportunity for a Systems/DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced, challenging and highly collaborative Technical Operations department. We seek dynamic candidates with the desire and skill to jump between projects and responsibilities. If you've played with DevOps orchestration, can toggle between Windows and Linux with ease, have experience in customizing opensource software and can configure switches and routers, this an opportunity to utilize all of those skill sets and more. NewsBank operates NoSQL systems at a scale matched by few, and you'll be part of the team responsible for scaling and maintaining it.  If you're tired of over-specialization, artificial barriers between technical departments, and want the flexibility to morph your role based on where your skills are needed most, you're the candidate we're looking for. Skill needed include experience in Administration of virtual server environments; Linux and Windows Administration; ability to script in at least two computer languages; experience or course work in networking; experience in monitoring/alerting systems; willingness to participate in an on-call rotation; friendly, collaborative attitude toward co-workers; ability to work effectively with remote teams using collaboration tools and without face to face communication; willingness to work early or late for scheduled project rollouts.  Prefer experience configuring applications and systems in AWS and experience with DevOps orchestration tools; MySql and NoSql. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
